Daisy started at The Athlete Lab in May and the improvement in her confidence, strength, especially her core, and overall fitness has really benefited her all-around netball performance. Her stamina, explosive skill levels and mindset have completely changed, allowing her to maintain accuracy when fatigued during a match.

Jayne

I’m Jayne, a performance coach with over 25 years of experience in strength & conditioning, athletic development, performance, and nutrition. Sport and fitness have always been a constant in my life, through education, coaching, and years working across youth and competitive environments. My focus at The Athlete Lab is performance coaching and developing how athletes move, build strength, improve speed, agility, and explosiveness, and ultimately enhance how they perform within their sport. It’s about more than training hard; it’s about training with purpose and long term progression. I created The Athlete Lab to provide young athletes with the professional guidance and structured development needed to maximise their potential.

Joe

Just your everyday Joe! But, someone committed to being better than yesterday. With a background in Sports Development and strength & conditioning, I’m all about helping people get stronger, perform better and build real world fitness that lasts. As a new dad, I understand the juggle of limited time, real responsibility, but still showing up and putting the work in. My own journey started with a CrossFit session that sparked a love for training I didn’t know I had. Since then, I’ve thrown myself into running events, triathlons, HYROX-style competitions and anything that tests both body and mindset. Strong. Capable. Always progressing.

Matt

Matt brings a powerful blend of military discipline and high level athletic experience to The Athlete Lab. After serving seven years in the British Army as a tank crewman, he developed elite standards of strength, conditioning, and resilience. Alongside his service, he competed in endurance running events and represented the Army in Rugby Sevens, including the Army U23s. Now a qualified running, S&C coach and sports therapist, Matt combines performance training expertise with hands on injury knowledge to help young athletes build strength, speed, and durability.

Alfie

I’ve been immersed in sport from the age of five, starting at Lichfield City before progressing to Burton Albion during college. I went on to study Strength & Conditioning and Rehabilitation at the University of Derby, gaining hands on experience working with athletes and deepening my understanding of performance, injury prevention and physical development. Weightlifting has been a huge part of my life for the past five years and I believe strength is the foundation for resilience, confidence and long term progress. Outside the gym, you’ll find me training, hiking, wild camping, or DJing to good dance music. Built on sport, driven by strength and focused on performance.

Lynsey

I’m a massage therapist, and I work with youth athletes to support recovery, manage growth related challenges, and address issues like overtraining, burnout, or injury. I use techniques like compression, stretching, ultrasound, and soft tissue work to help them recover, perform at their best, and stay on track with their training. For me, recovery isn’t an afterthought…it’s a key part of the journey.
